Safety21 acquires Velocar as a software and IoT design player dedicated to Road Safety and Smart Mobility

Safety21 S.p.A., participated by the private equity fund BU (Bregal Unternehmerkapital) Funds («BU»), announces that it has finalized the acquisition of 100% of the capital of Velocar S.r.l.,  an Italian company that has been designing software and IoT for road safety for over twenty years.

Velocar develops highly innovative products and services for road safety and has a large installed base of detection devices and an operational and intervention capability widely spread throughout the country.

Safety21 acquires another player in the market and extends its proprietary offer based on the Titan software platform that allows it to provide the Public Administration with innovative services for the digitization of the processes of ascertaining violations and for services to citizens, through the use of the most advanced technologies and focusing on an increasing use of Artificial Intelligence applications and data analysis in the road safety management.

New Digital Platforms for innovative mobility in the municipality of Bergamo

The new website and app of the ATB group, Azienda Trasporti Bergamo, was presented today to the press.

Starting today, 12 June, the ATB Group’s new information platforms will be available. The project involved the re-engineering and modernisation of digital services, leading to the creation of an integrated platform for the management of digital content and info-mobility devices.

Safety21 confirms itself as a strategic partner of ATB, having successfully contributed to the plan for the improvement and digitalization of services for the issuance, management and monitoring of regulated parking and circulation badges for authorized vehicles in Bergamo’s Limited Traffic Zones. Thanks to the use of innovative technologies, a fully integrated solution has been created between ATB’s new mobility portal and Safety21’s SIRIO platform. This platform, which has been managed for years by Safety21, is available to all entities that want a digital and integrated management of circulation and parking permits for authorized vehicles.

The system, which is completely digitized, allows citizens to obtain the required document quickly and easily, reducing the management of paperwork at the counter and travel by users to obtain permits.

Successfull collaboration for a digital future

We are happy to announce our collaboration with EDIH4DT.

The EDIH4DT hub was created within the «Digital Europe Programme», which promotes the digital transformation of European societies and economies. This programme has created a network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs). The task of EDIH4DT is to facilitate the digital transition of local public administrations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the adoption of advanced digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and cybersecurity.

The goal? To promote and support a modern and innovative PA towards a digital transformation that puts citizens and businesses at the centre and is connected to the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network.

Safety21 has set up a dedicated team, composed of Paolo Tommasini, Country Manager Spain & Portugal, Marco Gallucci, ICT & Product Integration Manager, and Danilo Riccio, Chief Product Manager, to develop the participation strategy for the EDIH4DT initiative. This collaboration offers an exceptional opportunity to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies in local public administrations and SMEs.

Safety21 at the 43rd edition of Local Police and Urban Safety Days

Great success of Safety21 at the 43rd edition of Le Giornate della Polizia Locale e Sicurezza Urbana, the annual event for the Local Police sector held as usual in Riccione from 20 to 22 September 2024, at the Congress Palace.


Our stand was an important showcase to present our latest cutting-edge solutions in the field of Road Safety and Smart Mobility. Among the technologies on display, Cerbero, the innovative active patrolling device of the territory, and iCam3D, the three-dimensional planimetric system for the assessment and detection of road accidents.


Among the new features stands out the entry of Velocar, the latest acquisition of the Safety21 Group, which has presented its brand new device for monitoring infringements, able to accurately detect speed violations and traffic lights, Ensuring that detailed traffic statistics are compiled.


This event demonstrated to the market how the technologies of the Safety21 Group can effectively support the Police and Public Administrations in the management of road safety. This is our commitment every day, promoting sustainable mobility and developing increasingly innovative solutions to meet future challenges.

Safety21: on the front line for road safety at the 41st ANCI Assembly

We participated for the second time as Main Partner at the 41st ANCI Assembly in Turin, held from 20 to 22 November, an essential appointment for the comparison between the public administrations, institutional partners and actors involved in service innovation for local communities.

Among our guests, also the mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, the minister Matteo Salvini, the president of ANCI Gaetano Manfredi and the mayor of Florence Sara Funaro.

Our presence has underlined the constant commitment to support the Administrations with innovative technological solutions, designed to face the complex challenges of road safety.

During the event, Stefano Guarnieri, Vice President of the Lorenzo Guarnieri Association, represented Safety21 by speaking on a crucial topic: the importance of strengthening safety on Italian roads through concrete and targeted interventions. His testimony underlined the value of collaboration between institutions, technology partners and civil society to prevent accidents and save lives.

Metropolitan City of Milan and Safety21: together to educate young people on road safety

The project «Mi voglio sicurǝ» is being relaunched with new educational opportunities for high school students in the metropolitan city of Milan.


Contribute to the formation of responsible and aware young citizens: this is the objective of the project Mi Voglio Sicurǝ, realized in collaboration with Safety21 and with the advice of the Association Lorenzo Guarnieri ONLUS, Dedicated to all secondary schools in the territory.

The project is enriched by the Path for Transversal Skills and Guidance (PCTO), an e-learning training programme launched on 22 November, at the end of which it will release 30 hours of training credits. Students will explore key road safety issues such as the links between vehicles and infrastructure, risk perception and preventive action to reduce road hazards.

Starting this January 2025, the initiative will extend with classroom training sessions. The programme also includes project work which will enable students to earn an additional 15 hours of training credits by designing a social communication campaign to raise public awareness of road safety. The three best papers will be awarded by a jury of experts.

For us at Safety21 road safety is a priority, and it is important for us to support the Metropolitan City of Milan in this path, combining training and awareness. Spreading a road safety culture among the younger generation is crucial to educate all users, including pedestrians and cyclists, on compliance. Only through awareness of the risks associated with inappropriate driving behaviour can a genuine sense of citizenship towards road safety be developed.

«Mi voglio sicurǝ «: the road safety training project for high school students continues

The second edition of the road safety training project dedicated to secondary schools in the Metropolitan City of Milan, as part of the Milan Metropolitan Safety Project, started this morning at the IPS B. Cavalieri – D. Marignoni Mi Voglio Sicur3 Institute

The project, carried out in collaboration with Safety21 and the Metropolitan City of Milan and with the advice of the Lorenzo Guarnieri Onlus Association, aims to raise awareness among young people about more responsible driving and make them aware of the importance of adopting safe behaviour on the road for themselves and for others.

The meeting opened with greetings from the School Principal Prof. Giovanni A. Maliandi and saw the institutional interventions of the Councilor delegated to Infrastructure and Metrotramways of the Metropolitan City of Milan Daniela Caputo and the Director of the Infrastructure Area of the Metropolitan City of Milan Alessandra Tadini.

During the morning, the classes (fourth and fifth sections) carried out interactive activities, learning the fundamentals of safer, more sustainable and respectful mobility.

Among the topics covered during the morning were «The role of the road in our lives and the perception of risk» with the intervention of Stefano Guarnieri – Founder of the Lorenzo Guarnieri Association and «Practical elements of road safety» provided by the Commander of the Local Police of the Metropolitan City of Milan Pieralessandro Scotti. At the end of the meeting, language and communication were discussed, emphasizing the importance of a conscious and effective approach in transmitting messages.

About 2,000 students from the Metropolitan City of Milan will be involved in the «Mi voglio Sicurǝ» project by June, the course, which through interactive quizzes, reflections and testimonies, will allow participants to create awareness and shared responsibility by highlighting the importance and value of compliance with the rules of the Highway Code of the Highway Code of the dangers given by distractions,  alcohol and drug intake on the road.

New this year: the PCTO, a Pathway for Transversal Skills and Orientation, for training, which will issue students with 30 hours of training credits, with a focus on key topics such as the links between vehicles and infrastructure, risk perception and preventive actions to reduce dangers on the roads.

Students who complete the entire training course will be able to obtain 15 additional training credits through a project work, a social communication campaign on road safety, in which students will take on the role of Ambassadors of a responsible and aware road culture. At the end of the teamwork, a jury of industry experts will select the three best projects. The winners will be awarded during an official event in the presence of the Institutions.

After the meeting at the IPS B. Cavalieri – D. Marignoni Institute, the «Mi voglio Sicurǝ» project will continue the training course also involving students in the third, fourth and fifth year of other secondary schools such as: the Marconi and Argentia Industrial Technical Institute in Gorgonzola, the Galilei High School in Legnano, the ISS Cattaneo and the ITS Pasolini in Milan.

ONE TEAM ONE VISION | March 26-27, 2025

On 26 and 27 March, part of the Safety21 team met for two intense days of Team Building in the name of sharing and growth. The theme of the meeting, «One Team, One Vision», represented the common thread of an experience designed to strengthen the synergy between colleagues, through moments of discussion, inspiration and co-creation.

The team took part in a unique training experience: a session of Lego® Serious Play®, an innovative method designed to stimulate creative thinking and facilitate discussion within working groups. Led by Carlo Spellucci, Master trainer of Lego® Serious Play® and his team of expert trainers, , the participants were involved in an immersive activity where LEGO bricks became tools to express ideas, values and visions related to trust, mutual support and collaboration.

Through the construction of symbolic models, each member was able to represent his or her own perception of the company system, sharing personal and professional reflections in an atmosphere of active listening and participation. An experience that strengthened the sense of team and ignited new ideas to face daily challenges together.

In closing, the intervention of Diego Parassole, who with intelligence and irony offered concrete ideas to face change with awareness and a constructive spirit.
